Just in case...

...you were thinking of going anywhere but Bridport Vintage Fair tomorrow I shall tempt you with these.
this case was a real fiddle, loads of cutting and measuring.

But it was worth it in the end!

This blue one got a different treatment
 Pages from old Ladybird books!
The van is playing up so I shall have to fill the cases with the rest of my goodies to make the most of every bit of car space.
Hope to see some of you there.

The 100th one

My oh my, my 100th post!
What have I been whittering on about?
Well most recently the Bridport Vintage Fair, which was a great success on Saturday. It was lovely to meet some fellow bloggers. Thanks for introducing yourselves. So funny when you have no idea what someone will look like but have been reading their diary for ages. I wish I'd asked you wear a carnation or something! I met the lovely Julie from Aunt Jane's Attic for the first time as well as Safia from Honey.Bumble.
Talking of Safia she has some photos of the day on her blog. I'm hoping she doesn't mind me pinching the ones of my stall as I didn't take my camera!
I hate having my photo taken so had to plump the lavender pillows to avoid a full on face shot.
Well once it was all over I thought I could either unpack the van or head for the coast. What a choice. We headed down to Burton Bradstock for the last few dry minutes of Sunday morning before this horrendous weather set in, for what looks like the week.

Emily Button came with us and bagged herself a boy, of sorts.
Anyway after 100 posts I've decided that once I hit 100 followers a giveaway will be the order of the day so watch this space...

Mid 20th Century fabric

I've been collecting mid 20th century fabrics for a while to make cushions for our living room. When I blogged about them they proved rather popular so I decided I could probably part with some of the stash...
Today I made this batch to sell!
Why not take one home from the Bridport Vintage Fair on Saturday?
Hope to see you there!

Want to see my drawers?

No not those drawers!
My wardrobe drawers.
Firstly I must confess to a little habit of mine - the chazza run. Let me explain. A chazza run usually happens on one of my days off and involves me dashing from one charity shop to the next as quickly as I can. I'm a dab hand at scanning the rails, checking the china, sniffing the blankets... In fact I can do all ten of Dorchester's chazzas in an hour and get a coffee too.
so let me introduce you to a Christmas prezzie. This top was my present from Mr Jam which made me feel a bit bad as I didn't get him anything. However did he pay the White Stuff loads of dosh for it? No (and no he's not a shoplifter either). It was an impulse buy. Hanging on the rail outside Leonard Cheshire marked at £1!!! Yes just a one, no zeros at all.
I rather like it and when I let you take a peak in my drawers you'll see why. See I have a bit of a turquoisey blue thing going on...
... alongside the green habit...
...and just occasionally I let a smidge of pink and brown in.
So, now you're acquainted with my wardrobe you'll understand the chazza ecstasy I experienced a few weeks ago. I was doing my weekly chazza run. Popped into Feral Cat Care and the lady was cooing over a bag of donations. As I squeezed past (very small shop) she looked me up and down and asked if I'd like to see what she'd just been given. Well I found out what all the cooing was about. A bin bag full of gorgeous clothes from Boden, White Stuff, Monsoon etc. Best of all most of it matched my colour drawers and was my size. She told me I could take my pick at £3 an item! I did have a wicked thought about buying the lot and putting it on Ebay but that would not be in the chazza spirit. So I put a load by and headed for the cashpoint. This is what I bought...
So you see I wear green with turquoise, turquoise with brown, brown with a smidge of pink and pink with green. My wardrobe goes full circle! So a big thank you Mrs Donator whoever you are, you have very good taste. Just keep donating please!
Got a bit carried away with the clothes photographs. I love all the embelishments.
Today I went to Bridport to look at my blue surprise and was not disappointed. I have a half written blog post that the blue 'one' will fit into nicely but will keep you wondering for now...
So for today's bargain - a lovely green linen dress from the Scope shop in Bridport.
Bit chilly for today but got me thinking Spring thoughts so I bought some flowers and bulbs for my fridge.
And today in the bathroom mirror I'm wearing green and pink (to match?).

Surprises!

Just a reminder about this lovely event tomorrow. Lots of great stalls and Chris and Sheena do fab food too!
I've been trying to make some more things to take with me this week but have been distracted by the garden. Having been without a garden for several years I am amazed at what we're getting in October. Strawberries for example. I picked this lot yesterday - a surprise for the jammers when they open their lunchboxes today!
Despite being decidely autumny now there are still surprising bursts of colour...
...including my new sofa cover complete with a few new cushions for tomorrow.
I loved making these little wallets so much
that I had a go at some bigger ones.
Perfect for all your special bits and bobs!
Might see you tomorrow!

Cheery uppy

It's been a funny old week here. Unfortunately we had a 999 moment when Mr Jam's dad was rushed to hospital on Monday night and things generally went downhill from there. Luckily he's been allowed home but it's all been a bit of a worry for Mr Jam. So today we treated him to a cheery uppy kind of day courtesy of Mr Tesco. We traded points for tickets earlier in the summer and have been waiting for a quiet day to visit Longleat.
All my jammers enjoying an autumn picnic.
Even though it was a day out for Mr Jam he did have to drive as my 2CV is decidely untigerproof! However he did brave the monkeys and the car came out intact. For the smallest jammers the highlight was not the monkeys but the nutter in the car in front who decided to stop the car and get out in the monkey enclosure. After that drama they spotted people throwing food at the giraffes and wanted to know why they weren't thrown out immediately!
The other creature who was looking cheered up was Anne the Elephant. Britain's last circus elephant was rescued in April but you can google her to read the full story.
After the safari park and the smaller animals we headed off to the play area. Usually my idea of hell but I did enjoy the mirrors. Here we are as the short fat family...
...then I seem to have got pregnant (with triplets by the look of it!)
but finally I think I like tall skinny best... if only!
So all in all a blurry kind of week with visits from Mr Jam's brother and then his nephew came up from Cornwall. I only managed a smatter of makes in all the chaos. You might recognise the flirty fabric wallets from Mollie Makes.
They will be coming with me on Saturday to the Bridport Vintage Fair. Details on the right hand bar.
