A colourful fair tomorrow

Let's hope the sun has got his hat on because hip, hip, hooray I've got a fair tomorrow.
I've not done one this year as all my 'spare' time has gone into replenishing Custard Hall but when a lovely lady rang and asked if I'd attend 'a bit of a Do' at Litton Cheney I thought it was about time.
I shall be packing up all sorts of vintage bits and bobs and have been busy making too.
I'm focusing on small things mainly under a £5 such as patchy hangers from vintage sheets
 Fridge magnet packs.
 Soaps wrapped in vintage wallpaper
 Good old fashioned sweetie jars
And there will be T-shirts galore! These are appliqued with vintage sheets and finished with a crochet flower and colourful button.
Meanwhile at Custard Hall stock is selling quickly and I've decided I need to focus on the small stuff as my furniture and bigger items tend to go better at the antique centre. So, I've moved downstairs and have a 'new' old dresser to display my wares.
What do you think?
I'm just a bit addicted to utility china and it seems the good people of Dorchester are liking it too!
Do take a look if you're local or pop along to Litton Cheney's 'A Bit of a Do' tomorrow afternoon.

Making resumed, vintage sheet style

After a little sewing machine break some new makes emerged with a bit of a vintage sheet theme...

Summery t-shirts for my little jammer and a couple of little Dutch girls I've not had the pleasure of meeting yet. I'm thinking of making up some more of these to sell as I'm attending a fair next weekend. What do you think?
Whilst the sheeting was being patchworked my eldest jammer to a shine to it and reminded me I'd promised to make her a new bag.
She's really enjoyed the Great British Sewing Bee on TV and wanted to assist.
She arranged the patches herself and chose a purple sheet to line it with.
Now this is the girl who lugs the heaviest rucksack to school each day and insists everything is essential. However all of a sudden she has been ruthless with the essentials and this pretty bag has been taken to school each day!

Making for others

Not only were the last ten days busy with making stock but I've been making for others too - oh and something for me!
After posting off the umpteenth tote bag I decided I needed one too only a bit bigger for all my clobber. I bought the most amazing barkcloth curtains at the Vintage Bazaar's Rag & Rummage a few weeks ago and knew they were destined to be turned into a bag for me.
Whilst I was making it a friend turned up who'd bought a tote the week before. She wanted something similar to contain a Cath Kidston picnic set for a colleague who was leaving... well this was just perfect. So I made two identical ones and my bag is waiting to bump into it's twin around town!
Another leaving present was for my boss. I'd not done a suitcase for a while but now I've remembered what fun it is I shall attack the stack of six in my bedroom over the holidays!
Sorry the pictures are a bit rubbishy. The colours are actually really vivid but I took these before I wrapped it late at night!
Yesterday one of my FB 'likers' came to Custard Hall. She had ordered this koala and monkey cushion for her daughter who's travelling in Australia.
Hope she likes it on her return!
Finally for my little neice...
Easter bunny tops made from vintage sheets!
Now I've got my eldest hankering after a vintage sheet tote bag, Vanilla wants a coat like Emily's and Emily Button wants a scooter (gulp).... that's a day or two taken care of!

Love is... colourful

My lovely jars full of trimmings or passementerie have inspired today's 'Love is'. It's been a bit of a making day and a colourful one at that!
Tonight I finished this set of hedgehog T-shirts for Little Jam.
She's really into hedgehogs and I know she'll love them!

There was colour in the kitchen too.
And decorating them with my new reindeer from Acorn & Will. Thanks Daniella!
Elsewhere Hectic was taking a colourful nap
and I'm loving my dotty paper under the tree!

Last minute making

Only a week to go now until my first Christmas Coffee Morning at De Danann and I'm busy restocking T-shirts. Just finished orders placed at Poundbury and now trying to refill the rail ready for next weekend. If you're after a particular size let me know before I make up the last few.
There are retro Sport ones for boys (or girls).

and Flower Fairies for girls (or boys?)

Also finished covering this sweet little ironing board in an old Cath Kidston print. Perfect for your little domestic goddess.

Just a couple of the many stockings I've made. Also some with vintage fabric trims such as Noddy.

Hope to see you next weekend!
